Hello Mary
"dudi" means "duality diagram". It is the basis of all the data analyses
and was proposed by Yves Escoufier in 1987 : "The duality diagram : a means
for better practical applications" in L., Legendre P. & Legendre,
Development in numerical ecology, Berlin, Springer-Verlag.
At this moment, in R-ade4, you can find seven duality diagrams. The
schedule of ade4 for one-table study is described in a paper from R-news,
vol 4, issue 1, 2004: Chessel, D.; Dufour, A.B.; Thioulouse, J. "The ade4
package - I: One-table methods".
In the examples proposed at the end of the function "discrimin", the
duality diagram is a normed principal component analysis.
The choice of a duality diagram is especially linked to your own problem
and dataset.
Good work
