MacMul and GraphMu :two Macintosh programs for the display and analysis of multivariate data Computers and Geosciences Serial Number : 16, 1990, pp. 1235-1240 ISSN : 0098-3004 Key-Words : MULTIVARIATE ANALYSIS,GRAPHICS,MACMUL,GRAPHMU,MACINTOSH Abstract In this paper two programs are presented for statistical analysis and graphical display on the Macintosh. MacMul carries out three basic multivariate methods: principal component analysis (PCA) for quantitative variables, correspondence analysis (CA) for contingency tables, and multiple correspondence analysis (MCA) for qualitative variables. GraphMu is designed for drawing the classical graphics of multivariate methods (principal component planes), and makes it possible to draw collections of graphics automatically. Each elementary graphic of a collection may correspond to the columns of the data table, or to groups of rows selected in the table. An example illustrates some of the possibilities of both programs.
