ALPHY

Bioinformatics, Phylogenetics and Evolutionary Genomics

History.

The first ALPHY meeting was organized in 1993 in Marseille by Alain Guénoche and Olivier Gascuel. ALPHY was initially a working group of the GDR “Informatique et Genomes”, gathering about 20 participants. ALPHY progressively grew up, following the advances of genome sequencing projects. Nicolas Galtier and Laurent Duret took over the organization of ALPHY in 2006. Nicolas was replaced by Céline Scornavacca in 2019, and then by Camille Berthelot in 2023.
