CC   The Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv efpA gene encodes a protein,
CC   EfpA, of predicted MW 55,670, that has a high degree of sequence
CC   similarity, including specific motifs, and apparent structural
CC   similarity with members of the family of large major facilitator
CC   efflux proteins that possess 13 or 14 transmembrane domains and
CC   provide export-mediated antibiotic resistance including multiple
CC   drug resistance.  PCR assays and genomic hybridization experiments
CC   indicated that efpA was also encoded by M. tuberculosis Erdman
CC   and Mycobacterium bovis BCG.  The predicted amino acid sequence of
CC   EfpA does not align with any Mycobacterial proteins when using
CC   BLASTX to screen the non-redundant data banks at NCBI, NLM.
