CC   The spoIIIC gene is an incomplete structural gene that is capable
CC   of encoding only the carboxyl terminal half of RNA polymerase sigma
CC   factor K (sigma-K).  The remainder of sigma-K is specified by
CC   another regulatory gene, spoIVCB, that is about 10 kilobases from
CC   spoIIIC on the chromosome.  The recombination event appears to
CC   occur within a 5 base repeat sequence at an intermediate stage of
CC   sporulation.  See also accession M23013.
