NRSub Release 10.1 (December 1997)
The release 10.1 of NRSub (the Non-Redundant Bacillus subtilis data
base) is now available through anonymous FTP at:
<ftp://pbil.univ-lyon1.fr/pub/nrsub/>
or
<ftp://ftp.nig.ac.jp/pub/db/nrsub/>
The distribution includes:
- The flat version of NRSub in EMBL format
(file NRSub.dat or
NRSub.dat.Z).
- The NRSub database under ACNUC for
UNIX
computers. This part includes the sources of the Query program for
line mode use.
- The binaries of the Query program for browsing the database.
The architectures supported are: Sun under
SunOS or
Solaris,
IBM RS/6000,
DEC Alpha,
Silicon Graphics, and
HP/UX,
- The NRSub database under ACNUC for
Macintosh
computers. This archive includes a binary of Query that runs on 680x0 and PowerPC
Macintoshes.
It is also possible to access NRSub through two World-Wide Web
servers located at:

or
<http://ddbjs4h.genes.nig.ac.jp/>
NRSub release 10.1 contains a single sequence of 4,214,814 bp
long corresponding to the whole B.subtilis genome. This contig
allows to access 4100 protein genes, 30 rRNA and 88 tRNA genes.
