Protein Databases - Décrypthon
The Decrypthon database contains the results of an exhaustive comparison of all known proteins from living organisms (animals, plants and humans), including the coding sequences from 76 completely sequenced genomes.
This resource will allow researchers to identify the biological function of some previously uncharacterized gene sequences, to cluster proteins that have remained similar throught evolution, and to identify subsequences that are crucial for the proteins’ biological function.
The Decrypthon database is available to the scientific community in order to speed up the understanding of genetic and rare diseases, as well as the development of new therapies.
The database is available in Strasbourg through the SRS.
