Nucleic databases - FlyGATE
Large eucaryotic genome sequences provides the opportunity to better understand the nature of transposable elements (TE). However, the lack of adapted tool limits the effectiveness of the exploitation of these data.
The FlyGATE’s team has represented the knowledge on TEs accessible via the sequences of the genomes (the structural, dynamic and evolutionary aspects) with the GATE model (Genome Analysis for Transposable Elements), of object-association type, to mitigate these deficiencies. The implementation of GATE with the AROM knowledge representation system and the Drosophila melanogaster genome data constitutes the FlyGATE knowledge base.
The access to FlyGATE is restricted, you are welcome to contact Christian Biémont and Emmanuelle Lerat to obtain an account.
