The R and C code in this package is AGPL-3.0-or-later. The bundled data are
snapshots of public data, and each dataset remains under the licence or terms
of use of the body that published it. They are redistributed here unchanged in
content (reformatted to CSV and Parquet), and the source of every table is
named in its documentation (?complaint_sample, ?arrest_sample,
?load_siu_reports, ?load_cihi_data_tables, ?`rmoriedata-victoria` and the catalogue in
inst/extdata/_catalog.csv). Publishers:

  - Ontario: the Ministry of the Solicitor General's correctional (OTIS)
and use-of-force (ARSAU) releases on the Ontario Data Catalogue
    (data.ontario.ca); the
    Special Investigations Unit's published director's reports (siu.on.ca).
  - Canadian municipalities and police services: Toronto Police Service
Public Safety Data Portal and City of Toronto Open Data; Calgary,
Edmonton, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver open-data portals, and the
    Vancouver Police Department.
  - Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI): the data-table
catalogue (links to CIHI's own downloads, which are not redistributed).
  - United States: City of Chicago Data Portal; NYC Open Data.
  - Australia: Crime Statistics Agency Victoria.

Files named *_synthetic* (CPADS, NIBRS, NIST RDS) are generated by this
package and contain no records of any person. Files named *_sample* are row
subsets of the published releases above. Before redistributing a bundled
table further, check the publisher's current terms at the source named in its
documentation.
