Annotation - Concepts and Methods

Besides the usual talks, we want this time to organize something new. This would concern asking those who wish so to do a short presentation of an annotation problem to which they have been confronted and for which they have not been able to find any satisfying method to solve it. Each presentation will last at most 15 minutes, and will be followed by 15 minutes of discussions with the persons present, in particular the computer scientists and mathematicians who might be interested in studying the problem, either themselves or through a student. We ask the persons wishing to make the presentation to write beforehand a short abstract of about half a page briefly describing the problem. This will allow: Our idea is to allow two hours in all for these presentations, which means four persons or groups of persons should be able to present a problem that concerns them. If you are interested, you can send from now until the last minute a message (in ascci format) to sagot@pasteur.fr with your abstract. We shall then inform you by December 10th at the latest of how these two hours of presentations will be organized in practice. That will of course depend on the number of messages we receive.
